About
I am a licensed clinical psychologist in Califronia and New Jersey. As a psychologist, I assist people in acquiring greater creative and emotional competencies, reconnecting with themselves and significant others in their lives, and removing obstacles to personal happiness and joy.
Psychotherapy is about personal growth, healing after emotional trauma and grief, and realizing one’s fullest potential. Distress can be manifested in various ways: depression, anxiety, burnout, addictive and compulsive behaviors, conflict with loved ones, loneliness, and other issues. In therapy sessions we examine meaningful relationships, communication styles, and barriers to success with a goal of restoring a sense of balance to your life and, by extension, to the lives of others who care deeply about you. For those clients who wish to deepen their self-understanding, we explore the unconscious by analyzing dreams, memories, and fantasies.

What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I earned my Doctoral and Master's degrees in Clinical Psychology from California School of Professional Psychology. I received my Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology from the University of California, Berkeley. I completed my pre- and post-doctoral internships at San Francisco Department of Public Health where I obtained extensive training in brief and long-term psychodynamically-informed psychotherapy under direct supervision of a prominent Lacanian psychoanalyst. I have worked with geriatric clients at the Institute on Aging and with incarcerated individuals at San Francisco Jail Psychiatric Services. I have accumulated significant experience treating adults with mood and anxiety disorders, emotional trauma and relationship issues, and helping them navigate stressful life transitions and explore their deeper self. I am a compassionate and sensitive therapist who believes that no matter what life throws at us, every situation gives one an opportunity for self-growth and understanding and realizing one’s fullest potential. I am a member of American Psychological Association and a participant at Lacanian School of Psychoanalysis.
Additionally, I am fluent in Russian and welcome Russian-speaking therapy clients.

What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a pro in your area of expertise?
It is important to keep in mind that psychotherapy is a process and not a quick fix.The effectiveness of therapy depends on a client’s active participation and requires time and effort. It works best when a client attends all scheduled appointments and accepts the responsibility of applying what was learned in therapy to his/her everyday life.
