a little about me

A few years ago, I left the money, the unlimited expense account and the world that was New York City corporate advertising. I was done helping brands, done supporting pocketbooks. I wanted to help others in a different and more personal way - help others overcome the everyday, the ordinary, the extra-ordinary, the unique and the difficult challenges that are holding them back from being their best self. After moving back to LA, I earned my Masters in Social Work from USC, became a Licensed Clinical Social Worker and now have the privilege to work as a psychotherapist.

It's ok to ask for help. It took me a long time to come to terms with that. However, once I did, my life began to blossom. I've have such a strong conviction to value mental health care can offer, that I left my job in corporate adversiting 7 years ago and began my pursuit to become a therapist. I've never looked back. I love seeing people change; witnessing people finally able to see a "way out" or a way to do things differntly, is the most gratifying work I've done.

My practice concentrated on work with adults between the ages of 25-70, with those working through

    - addiction

    - depression

    - anxiety

    - specific populations include extensive experience with clients who are memebers of the LGBT community and family members of those suffering from chronic illness.

Hire somebody who makes you feel comfotable.  There is nothing worse than sitting across from a therapist where you don't feel like you can be genuine and authentic.  Also, choose somebody who really speciializes in the areas you are looking to work on - many therapists say they can do "all kinds of therapy."  I have found that it's the therapists who can do a few things really well that can help their clients achieve the best results.

What is my primary goal of therapy?

Why am I choosing to engage in therapy at this point in my life?

What type of person do I feel comfotable talking to?  Who is this person to you?

Are you looking for somebody to solve your issues or looking for somebody who can guide you along to come to conclusions on your own, empowering you to move forward?
