About this pro

I specialize in depression and anxiety, with a particular interest in substance use, dysfunctional relationships, workplace hostility, and religious group abuse/dysfunction.

Welcome to my profile! I am a licensed clincal psychologist in the West Los Angeles and Santa Barbara areas. I strive to help people become their own authority, which may have been compromised by unhealthy relationships, substance abuse, depression, and anxiety. I focus on the individual's relationship with themselves, fostering an understanding and compassion towards personal strengths and vulnerabilities. I believe it is imperative to address underlying issues with out judgment or shame, so that we can heal parts of the self that are no longer serving us. My clinical training is in psychodynamic therapy, and I tend to gravitate towards an attachment based and humanistic approach.
I have a particular interest in issues associated with cultivating a healthy relationship with oneself and others. Specifically, those recovering from codependency, narcissistic abuse, religious groups, drug and alcohol abuse, and wrongful termination.
I know finding a therapist that is a good fit can be a trial and error process. My approach is direct, but also kind. I hope to collaborate with you to get your needs met both in therapy and your life.

Dr Moini counseled me thru a nervous breakdown caused by an abusive and extremely high stress work situation. She also accommodated me by doing my sessions over the phone as I moved to Tennessee during my treatment. I highly recommend Dr Moini.

What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?

In 2010 I received a doctorate degree in clinical psychology from The George Washington University in Washington, DC. I am originally from Los Angeles and I have an office in the West Los Angeles area and soon in the Ventura/Santa Barbara area as well.

Do you have a standard pricing system for your services? If so, please share the details here.

I am not on any insurance panels, but I can provide you with a superbill for the services for you to submit to insurance. Based on your particular plan's deductible, you will be reimbursed for what you paid me out of pocket. I typically charge $190 for a 50 minute psychotherapy session. However, I will do my best to help accommodate you and your situation and/or help find you an appropriate referral.

What types of customers have you worked with?

Adults in recovery from substance use/individuals in need of DUI evaluations or court ordered treatment.

Young and mid level professionals exploring careers as well as navigating the workplace environment/workplace hostility.

Individuals struggling with emotional distress related to religious affiliations or church groups.
