I'm a Stanford-trained therapist with a strong background in working with depression, cultural issues, trauma, anxiety, bipolar disorder, chronic illness, sexual health, relationships, and family conflict across the lifespan. Importantly, my practice is culturally informed, compassionate and evidence-based. I believe in authenticity and value each client and all of their intersecting identities.
I love the work that I do, mainly because I care about each and every client I see. Each story I witness is important and unique, full of individual differences, but also struggles that we all share. It is an honor to see clients work through these struggles and grow in our time together.
I really liked therapy with Dr. Rivera and would keep seeing her if I could. She was friendly and professional and really cared. When we started I was depressed and anxious and didn't know how to help myself. Now I have tools to do that and feel like I can finally understand how my depression affects my self-esteem, friendships, and the way I see the world. Go see her. You won't regret it.
