About
I want my clients to feel comfortable and accepted from the very beginning and I am very compassionate and patient, but also engaged and fully focused on each person, often using humor and it is important to me to be real with them, while learning abouit each person and finding a language through which I can reach them.
After thirty-three years as licensed mental health professional, working with clients is a very different experience, because I have seen almost any type of problem, which can occur in people's lives, whether it be in a hospital, nursing home, or in an outpatient setting. Naturally there is always something, which still challenges me.
I do not like to waste too much time and like to be able to promote as much change and a sense of well being in my clients as possible.

Frequently asked questions
What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
Whenever I make an appointment with a new client, it is very important to me to start off connecting right away from the moment I text, e mail or call the client.
The first meeting is very important, because it sets the stage for how the treatment is going to unfold. It is also a mutual opportunity to find out if we are a good match, to put my potential clients at ease, provide support, hope and encouragement, sometimes referrals to other specialists if needed and explain what working with me will be like.
At the same I am also doing my best to figure out how best to help a person, couple or family, or put in a more professional language, i will work at diagnosing the problem, explain the do's and don't of therapy as well as answer any questions or concerns a client might have. Finally, I also provide psych-education regarding the probably diagnosis or problem, which we will be addressing. Sometimes, that can be quite diffwerent from what a client might have expected or pictured prior to the session. In some cases, i may also offer potential remedies or preliminary solutions. So that a client can walk away from the appointment with hope and sometimes a sense that things will work out after all.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
