Sage Advise Counseling Center
About
I have been a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist for over 30 years in California and Washington. I am certified in Imago Relationship Therapy and Interactive Guided Imagery. I use mind/body techniques that give results quickly (EMDR, EFT, Art Therapy). I work as a Life Coach in Tucson, so my fees are less than a licensed therapist. I just published a book, Self Portraits of a Runaway Wife, a healing journey told through poetry and prose. It is available in Amazon.
I enjoy helping people by teaching tools and finding solutions to the issues that are getting in the way of their happiness. Their lives can change in a moment--that is the gift that makes me happy.

Frequently asked questions
What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
I begin by listening to the issue that brings the person in, rather than spending sessions on background. That information will come out when needed. I give tools to help with communication, re-romanticizing the relationship and guide couples and individuals toward solutions and growth opportunities. I also specialize in grief work. I work with couples, families and individuals.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I have a BA in psychology, MS in Counseling and teaching credential in Special Education. I have been licensed in CA and WA as a Marriage and Family Therapist for over 30 years. I am certified in Imago Relationship Therapy and Interactive Guided Imagery, and have training in EMDR, EFT and Art Therapy as well as other adjunctive therapies.
Do you have a standard pricing system for your services? If so, please share the details here.
I am practicing as a Life Transitions Coach in Tucson, AZ. Because I don't yet have my AZ license as A Marriage and Family Therapist and I am working from my home or as a consierge therapist by coming to your home, I am willing to reduce my fees and use a sliding scale from $50-100/hour.
What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a pro in your area of expertise?
Talk with the therapist on the phone to get a sense about whether or not it is a good fit. It may take several sessions to get that gut feeling if this is a good match. While we all have specialized training, the relationship that develops is also part of the healing process. Unlike when a doctor giving antibiotics , whether or not you like the doctor, the antibiotics will do the job, the therapist 's tools depend on good communication and trust in order for the client to get the most benefit.
What questions should customers think through before talking to pros about their needs?
Be succinct about the issues as well as the desired outcome of therapy. Decide and commit to doing work before making appointments. Come with an open mind.
