Julianne J Holroyd Ph.D.
About
I am a Licensed Psychotherapist and have been for over 17 years. I have worked with people of all ages, people who were dealing with a myriad of issues, from relationship or family issues to substance abuse, depression, anxiety, and trauma. I provide individual counseling, couples counseling and family counseling.
In addition to my academic education – a master’s degree in counseling psychology, and a doctorate in psychology – I have trained in multiple approaches including gestalt therapy, energy work, neurolinguistic programming (NLP), and psychodrama. My therapeutic approach could best be described as eclectic, that is, I draw from many of these different therapeutic methods, usually favoring cognitive-behavioral therapy which looks at beliefs, values, thoughts, and changing behaviors, and gestalt therapy, which focuses on emotions. With each person, and in each session, I use the method that I feel will be most effective.
I am confident that together we can achieve the results you desire.
I look forward to working with you!!
I love working with my clients. To see them grow through difficult and troubling issues is very fulfilling for me.

Frequently asked questions
What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
My goal for the first session is to create a safe environment for you to tell me about some of the issues or problems you are facing.
If you under a lot of stress and need to work quickly on an issue I will work with you immediately. Otherwise, we will use the first session to explore some of the issues you are facing and to gather some history.
I ususally let the client guide how much we address in this first session. Then, together, we create a tentative plan for our work together - what the goals are, and how often you want to attend therapy.
