Frequently asked questions
What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
I usually start with a brief phone conversation to identify the issues and identify the actions that need to be taken, then I quote a price. Then we can make an appointment at my office or the client can send documents by mail or email.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I have is B.S.in Accounting from A.S.U. I have lived in Arizona since 1969.
I retired as a CPA after having a practice in Arizona from 1973 through 2020. I also was a Personal Financial Specialist from 2007 though 2020 (PFS).
I am a Qualified Financial Planner (QFP) today.
Do you have a standard pricing system for your services? If so, please share the details here.
After a brief conversation over the phone about a clients needs and what service need to be performed I can quote a very reasonable fixed price or hourly rate.
How did you get started in this business?
After 40 plus years in CPA practice serving individuals in Arizona I sold the practice to retire. However after a year I realized I missed working with clients and being productive. I then began helping clients in an area that is underserved, estate planning and administration assistance, document preparation and avoiding probate without trusts. All at very reasonable prices.
What types of customers have you worked with?
I frequently help clients who want to minimize the difficulties for the heirs with asset transfers upon their death. That includes consulting about the process and preparing the documents. I also assist heirs with the processes, documents and tax filings for estates and trusts.
Describe a recent event you are fond of.
I helped a senior widowed lady with her complex investments and updating her will. When we finished her accounts were simplified and consolidated. Her beneficiaries were reviewed, added and updated. All her assets will transfer to the correct heirs without any difficulty for the heirs and withour any probate necessary. She was so happy and at peace with the result.
What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a pro in your area of expertise?
Many pros just see $$$ when a client needs tax and estate assistance. I see someone I can help and make happy. that makes me happy. I don't need money so I keep my fees very low.
What questions should customers think through before talking to pros about their needs?
What is it going to cost?
How long will it take?
Do I have to run around and all the paperwork with other parties to get it all done or can the pro do all the paperwork for you?
